Grandmother’s Medicine, 2004

In this painting the woman is praying to the Creator as she drops to her knees with great humility. The grandmother spirits hear her call as she prays using an eagle feather and sage smudge.  Her prayer request asks for an open heart and for balance within herself, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  Located over her heart is the symbol for balance and an open heart.  The grandmother spirits hear this call and send the prayer onward to the Creator as they happily sing, rattle and dance to the rhythm of her prayers.
